At WM Fencing all of our staff have valid CSCS Cards and 80% of the staff are trained SSSTS supervisors. The staff are abrasive wheel, CAT + Genny trained for your peace of mind.
CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the appropriate training and qualifications for the job they do on site. By ensuring the workforce are appropriately qualified the card plays its part in improving standards and safety on UK construction sites.
We’ve been working with construction buyers and suppliers for 20 years–we work closely with our partners and have a deep understanding of buyers’ needs. At Constructionline, we pride ourselves on opening up opportunities for members to access a wide range of procurement contracts and projects–and for buyers to access a validated pool of high-quality suppliers.
CHAS was created by experienced health and safety professionals in 1997 to improve health and safety standards across the UK.
In partnership with the Association of London Government (ALG), CHAS was a key developer of the core criteria held in the Approved Code of Practice which supported the Construction (Design andManagement) Regulations 2007 (now recognised as CDM 2015) and is a founder member of SSIP(Safety Schemes in Procurement). As one of the founders of third party accreditation we are not only a trusted advisor on health and safety compliance, we are an authority. We set industry benchmarks, provide assurance and reassurance, and offer best-in-class services that are easy to use and cost effective.
This health and safety legislation was created to achieve the following aims:
We have more than 1000 public and private sector client organisations and 35,000 contractors registered on the CHAS database.
A SMAS Worksafe certificate has allowed thousands of contractors to quickly and simply demonstrate their commitments to workplace safety.
Since the launch of SSIP assessments, many Construction companies and Principal Contractors now adopt this approach to Health & Safety pre-qualification and will only use contractors who hold a valid and in-date scheme certificate issued by an SSIP Member Scheme.
A key aim of the SSIP Forum is to reduce the burden and cost of H&S bureaucracy across the construction industry and as part of this, your SMAS H&S certificate will be recognised by other SSIP members who offer mutual recognition.
